Fees explained
All Clients are required to pay a non-refundable booking fee that is calculated at 40% of the overall fee. This booking fee will be deducted from the invoice upon completion of the project. Thus, the booking fee is not an additional cost but a percentage of the overall quote.
Below I have outlined an example to better your understanding of the booking fee and process of paying it:
STEP ONE:
I have spoken to the Client and have agreed an overall fee of £800. Therefore, I inform the client that the upfront cost of the booking fee is £320 (40% of £800).
STEP TWO:
The Client then fills in a booking confirmation form, signs the agreement, and subsequently receives an invoice for the booking fee of £320. The Client pays the booking fee within 5 days of receiving the invoice.
STEP THREE:
The Client sends me the document to be edited, and I complete the work. Upon completing the work, I send an invoice to the Client for the remaining bill. This invoice shows that the total cost of the project is £800. The invoice also shows that the £320 booking fee has been deducted from the outstanding bill to show a final cost of £480 (overall fee minus the booking fee).
STEP FOUR:
The Client pays the final payment of £480 and recieves a reciept of purchase.
