+ STEP ONE: FILL IN A FORM

Submitting this form will allow me to confirm my availability to work for you.

+ STEP TWO: CHECK YOUR INBOX

When I have received your information via this form, I will respond via email (please don’t forget to check your junk!) and ask any questions I have regarding the service.

+ STEP THREE: FREE SAMPLE EDIT AND QUOTE

I will also request access to the manuscript to be edited (for more information about why I ask to see the manuscript, click here). I will ask for this to be sent via email as a Microsoft Word document. Upon receiving this document, I will review it and respond to you via email with a quote. For large projects I may also respond with a free sample edit of your work!

Why do I ask to see to manuscript? It is really difficult for me to quote work when I haven’t seen it. Often, clients come to me thinking they need a particular service when, after reviewing the work, my recommendation is a different service entirely. It’s also impossible to know how finished the manuscript is looking without seeing it; a manuscript with more errors will take more time to edit – so it isn’t all about wordcount!⁣⁣

Why do I ask to see the manuscript?

It is really difficult for me to quote work when I haven’t seen it. Often, clients come to me thinking they need a particular service when, after reviewing the work, my recommendation is a different service entirely. It’s also impossible to know how finished the manuscript is looking without seeing it; a manuscript with more errors will take more time to edit – so it isn’t all about wordcount!⁣⁣

“I’m nervous about sharing my manuscript at this stage, is there anything else I can do to get a quote?”

I will treat you and your manuscript with respect and will ensure all communications and work with and for you is kept confidential; after looking at your manuscript initially, I will be upfront, honest, and realistic about what is possible, and I will live up to this assessment of what is possible.⁣⁣
For individuals who are concerned about sharing work at this stage, it is normally possible for me to review a portion of the manuscript (no less than 10,000 words) to get a good idea of your manuscript’s needs. Please be aware that seeing only a portion of the manuscript will only allow me to generate a rough quote for work. Although I can book you in under these circumstances, the quote and timeline may change once I have seen the fininshed manuscript to be edited if the section I reviewed was not representative of the rest of the text.

If you’re still worried, that’s okay.

Please feel free to get in touch via email (contact@amyedits.co.uk), and I’ll be more than happy to talk through any concerns you have.⁣⁣
